H2.

I think.

I probably snagged this from Florida Steve, but I honestly don't remember.

  1. Sure looks like an H2--from the cylinders and the size of the exhaust ports. From that angle it even looks like it has the big carbs as what the blue '72's had before they down sized them in '73.
Sweet stuff man--great work here! Thanks!

  2. I was pretty sure it was an H2, but I just wanted to cover my ass in case some 2 stroke aficionado came by and was like "thats a H1 you....!" lol.

  3. I never get tired of Cody's bike. That's one of the nicest custom H2 's on the planet. I've seen it in person (and taken plenty of pics). It's actually an H2 engine in an H1 frame with an FZR400 swingarm (shock tabs welded on) reeds added, custom wheels etc etc etc.. I've actually accumulated the parts to build something similar only as more of a flattracker. Don't know if it'll get built anytime soon but younever know :)

  4. Thanks for the clarification, Steve! A friend of mine is building one up sort of like this too, with all the FZR bits. I may have posted a photo of it before... It's gonna be mean!

  5. When I was 18 I saw one of these for sale locally --- a 72 or so, if memory serves. I don't remember all the specifics, but the dude had built it to race locally, and said he'd had it upwards of 165. Oh, and it was runnin' on alcohol.
Anyway... I took it for a test drive. I stalled it in his driveway at least 5 times before getting it to go... the thing wouldn't move at less than 6 thousand RPM's. I finally got down the street, hit the freeway, came into gear a little hot around 80mph, and the little bitch stood straight up on me... I hopped off the freeway and rode that thing straight back to him, pretty much sittin' on the tank the whole way. Scared the shit outta me. I ended up with a bone stock 76 KZ900 instead.

  6. Sounds similar to my first experience with one of these beasts.
